Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a Regional CDI Supervisor to oversee daily CDI operations for Health Ministries in the region, including on-site and remote staff. You will ensure accurate DRG coding, guide training, and collaborate with clinicians, coding, quality, and denials teams.

You will lead staffing, monitor performance, and stay current with CMS guidelines, ICD-10, and 3M CDI software usage as part of Trinity Health’s commitment to high-quality documentation and patient care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HIM or related field is required.
• Experience with CMS regulations, DRG reimbursement, and ICD-10 guidelines.
• Minimum five years hospital CDI program experience.
• Two or more years supervising CDI staff.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily CDI operations for region, onsite and remote.
• Ensure accurate DRG assignment and documentation improvement.
• Coordinate scheduling for CDS and CDI Coordinator.
• Provide training to CDS staff and contribute to policy development.
• Collaborate with Coding, Quality and Denials teams to improve data quality.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare related field or Nursing

Five (5) years of hospital CDI program experience

Two (2) or more years supervising CDI staff

CMS regulations and DRG knowledge

Analytical and communication skills

MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint proficiency

3M CDI Software expertise

Epic EMR experience

Regulatory and compliance knowledge
