Job summary

Trinity Health in Livonia, Michigan seeks an experienced Clinical Documentation Integrity Program Director to supervise the CDI program across health ministries. You will oversee CDS staff, coordinate staffing and training, and collaborate with clinicians, coding, quality and denials teams to improve documentation quality and DRG outcomes.

The role requires five+ years in CDI leadership, strong CMS and MS-DRG knowledge, and proficiency with 3M CDI Software; Epic EMR is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare related field or Nursing or equivalent in experience.
• Must understand CMS regulations, coding guidelines and DRG reimbursement.
• Minimum of five years CDI program experience in a hospital setting.
• Two+ years supervisory experience in CDI.
• Strong knowledge of MS-DRG system and ICD-10 guidelines.
• Experience with 3M CDI Software; Epic EMR preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lead onsite and remote teams.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise the CDI team onsite and remotely.
• Ensure regional goals are met with compliant, timely processes.
• Provide training and staffing oversight for CDS roles.
• Collaborate with clinicians, coding, quality and denials teams.
• Maintain knowledge of MS-DRG, CMS guidelines and ICD-10.
• Monitor CDI dashboard and drive performance improvements.
