Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a CDI Specialist to improve documentation accuracy across inpatient and observational settings. You will perform concurrent record reviews, collaborate with physicians, nurses, CEPS and HIM teams to ensure severity of illness and reimbursements reflect true acuity.

Qualified candidates have an RN license in ND (or compact) and 3+ years in acute care, or 5+ years in coding; RHIT/RHIA is acceptable.

Qualifications

• Active ND RN license or compact license required.
• Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or RHIT/RHIA or related field required.
• Minimum 3+ years clinical experience in acute care or similar setting; or 5+ years coding/clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform concurrent clinical documentation reviews for accuracy and relevance.
• Collaborate with providers and HIM to clarify documentation and reflect severity of illness.
• Initiate and track documentation queries per guidelines and regulations.
• Educate staff on documentation best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain organized workflows to support CDI program goals.
