Job summary

CSAA Insurance Group seeks a Casualty Evaluator to handle owning adjuster duties for low-exposure injury and liability claims in a remote-friendly environment. The role covers 1st/3rd party auto liability, medical payments, and PIP across multiple states with occasional travel.

You will investigate, negotiate, and settle claims under $50,000, communicate clearly with claimants, and support catastrophe responses. The position emphasizes independence, accuracy, and customer service excellence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 2+ relevant work experience.
• 2 years of related professional experience.
• 2 years of claims experience.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Strong ability to work independently.
• Strong decision making ability.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Basic math and computer skills; 30 wpm typing.
• Proficient spoken and written English.
• Team oriented with ability to travel occasionally.
• Willing to work extended hours and/or weekends.
• Ability to complete training courses relevant to duties.
• Understanding of statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Understanding AAA claims policies preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assigned as owning adjuster when injury exposure is identified and handles auto liability cases.
• Manage communications in writing, by telephone and email.
• Handle 1st and 3rd party auto liability claims with exposure under $50,000.
• May handle 1st party Medical Payments and PIP.
• Assist in catastrophe-related activities and simple homeowner losses.
• Investigate, negotiate, settle and resolve claims; maintain productivity in queues.
• Make coverage determinations and advise customers on actions.
• Conduct complex investigative work and potentially represent at settlements or trials.
• Evaluate subrogation potential and pursue notice where appropriate.
• Present cases to committees for higher authority and negotiate settlements accordingly.
