Job summary

Ascend Medical in Athens, GA is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patients through telehealth coordination, examinations, and care plan follow-through. You will work under the Practice Manager to ensure smooth front-line operations in a patient-centered primary care setting.

The role requires a Medical Assistant program completion, CPR certification, and 2+ years of MA experience in a healthcare setting. CCMA is preferred; this is a full-time on-site position with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate from a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent healthcare preparation.
• Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) preferred; CPR certification current.

Responsibilities

• Book telehealth appointments, triage patients virtually, and record patient interview, history & chief complaint using EMR.
• Prepare patients for examinations and coordinate referrals for routine tests; assist physician with exams.
• Coordinate with Care Coordinator to ensure care plans and follow-up appointments.
• Manage inbound/outbound communications (calls, chats, emails) as assigned.
• Educate new and existing members on Ascend services and insurance benefits.
