Job summary

Ascend Medical is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care and administrative tasks. You will triage patients, book telehealth visits, and help prepare patients for examinations using our EMR system.

You will collaborate with Care Navigators and the Care Coordinator to ensure comprehensive care plans and timely follow-ups, while maintaining high-quality patient communication and service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate from a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program OR equivalent healthcare preparation is required.
• Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years MA experience working in a healthcare setting required.
• Must be current in CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Book telehealth appointments, triage patients virtually, and record patient interview, history & chief complaint using Ascend’s EMR.
• Facilitate telehealth consultations with chart review and planning; ensure equipment is operable and orient patients to technology.
• Prepare patients for examinations and arrange referrals for routine screening tests; assist physician during exams.
