Job summary

Berks County PA seeks a Supervisor I - Intake and Assessment to oversee the unit, manage eligibility assessment functions, workload and relationships with providers across Berks County and the Commonwealth.

The role requires supervising staff, maintaining confidentiality, and ensuring HIPAA compliance; a Bachelor’s in Social Work or related field and PA assessor certification within 90 days are required, along with a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field and one year of public/private social work experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field and two years of case work experience including assessment experience.
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training; AAA experience substitutions allowed.
• Certification by PA as a certified assessor, to be obtained within 90 days of employment.
• Valid driver's license.
• Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Intake and Assessment Unit staff.
• Develop knowledge of aging services and resources in Berks County and across the Commonwealth.
• Oversee intake calls, referrals for services, and level of care assessments.
• Direct scheduling, tracking, and reporting of assessments.
• Monitor performance, conduct annual evaluations, and identify training needs.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain confidentiality.
• Provide backup support to other units and supervisors as needed.
• Develop procedures and guidelines for unit operations within policy.
