Job summary

UPMC Corporate Revenue Cycle is hiring a Certified Professional Coder to join our coding team for Cardiology coding. This is a work-from-home position with Monday–Friday hours. Three years of coding experience are required.

You will assign PQRS codes, help develop templates to obtain documentation, and provide feedback on coding, documentation, and denials. You will train staff and lead coding audits as needed, ensuring accuracy and timely reimbursements.

Qualifications

• Three years of physician coding experience in the applicable specialty.
• Cardiology coding experience is preferred.
• Graduate of an approved certified coding program preferred.
• Proficient computer skills with MS Excel knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify incomplete documentation in the medical record and formulate physician queries to obtain missing information.
• Refer problem accounts to appropriate coding or management personnel for resolution.
• Meet coding accuracy and productivity standards within the first year of employment.
• Provide training on code selection for new and existing staff.
• Investigate and resolve reimbursement issues, including denials, in a timely manner.
