Job summary

Affirm is seeking a Compliance Manager to own advisory for the affirm card program, partnering with Product, Engineering, and Operations to ship card features that are compliant and built to last.

You’ll apply EFTA (Reg E), TILA (Reg Z)/CARD Act, UDAAP, and related rules, review disclosures and UX, and lead remediation efforts to prevent recurrence; you’ll prepare for regulatory exams and audits with the team.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in a compliance advisory role within financial services with a Bachelor's degree (6+ years with a Master's, or 3+ with a PhD).
• Deep knowledge of EFTA, Reg Z, CARD Act, Reg DD, and UDAAP in card products.
• Experience partnering with Product, Engineering, and Operations on regulated features.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end compliance advisory for the affirm card program across marketing, onboarding, wallets, disputes, and servicing.
• Navigate novel regulatory questions and escalate only when warranted.
• Review marketing, disclosures, and UX for regulatory alignment and consumer protection.
• Lead root-cause analysis and durable remediation for card compliance issues.
• Support regulatory exams and bank audits with cross-functional teams.
• Maintain and improve the card program’s risk assessments and control inventory.
• Develop compliance training and reference materials specific to card requirements.
• Serve as the go-to compliance expert for new card features throughout the product lifecycle.
