Job summary

Nana Management Services, LLC is seeking a Kitchen Helper to maintain sanitation standards and perform cleaning, stocking, and food preparation duties in remote camp locations across Alaska.

The role supports cooks, prepares food, and helps maintain organized kitchen, dining, and storeroom areas. Candidates must be able to stand for long shifts, work as part of a team, and meet Alaska sanitation requirements.

Qualifications

• Preferred a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least one year of work experience in a commercial kitchen or vocational training.
• Must have or obtain an Alaska Food Workers Card and/or ServSafe Certification upon hire.
• Must pass all pre-employment contract requirements including background check and drug test.
• As per contract requirements, must be NANA Shareholder living in NANA Region.
• Must be able to cooperate and work as part of a team with fellow employees, customers and clients.
• Must be able to make decisions in the moment with little to no supervision.
• Must be able to be on your feet for 12 hours per shift for the scheduled rotation.
• Must be able to live in dormitory style settings and meet cleanliness requirements of the remote camp.
• Contract requires employees to speak, understand, read and write English.
• Must meet and adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations set forth by the company and client.

Responsibilities

• Assists cooks and coordinates activities within a food service area.
• Prepare food and cook vegetables, entrees, coffee, sauces, meats, etc.
• Maintain stock levels in preparation, serving, or storage areas.
• Stock various food service areas with products and materials.
• Clean dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and store properly.
• Wash objects by hand or with cleaning equipment.
• Clean, sweep, and wipe down dining, kitchen, or storage areas and equipment.
• Assist with periodically scheduled large cleaning projects.
• Remove garbage from assigned areas.
• Set up, break down, and clean tables, snack bars, and serving lines.
• Notify supervisor if safety and sanitation standards are not met.
• Other duties as assigned.
