Job summary

UNAVAILABLE is seeking a Kitchen Helper for remote camp locations in Alaska. The role emphasizes maintaining sanitation, assisting cooks, food preparation, stocking, and serving in a fast-paced kitchen and storeroom environment.

Responsibilities include coordinating activities, cleaning, and supporting periodic large cleaning projects, with duties possibly expanding to related tasks. Candidates should be able to stand for long shifts and work in remote camp conditions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year in a commercial kitchen or related training.
• Must obtain Alaska Food Workers Card and/or ServSafe certification on hire.
• Background check and drug test may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist cooks and coordinate activities within the food service area.
• Prepare food and cook vegetables, entrees, coffee, sauces, meats, etc.
• Maintain stock in preparation, serving, or storage areas.
• Stock various food service areas with products and materials.
• Clean dishes, utensils, pots, pans, etc., and organize storage areas.
• Wash objects by hand or with cleaning equipment.
• Clean and sanitize dining, kitchen, and storage areas; assist with large cleaning projects.
• Remove garbage from assigned areas.
• Set up and clean tables, snack bars, and serving lines.
