Job summary

The Remote Kitchen Helper position is based in Alaska, supporting remote camp dining operations. You will assist cooks, prepare and clean up meals, maintain sanitation, stock areas and ensure a clean, orderly kitchen and service areas.

This role requires physical endurance for long shifts, teamwork, and compliance with safety standards. A High School Diploma or GED, 1+ year kitchen/housekeeping experience, and ServSafe/Alaska Food Workers Card are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of work experience in a commercial kitchen or documented vocational training.
• At least 1 year of work experience in commercial housekeeping.
• Must obtain Alaska Food Workers Card and/or ServSafe Certification on hire.
• Pre-employment requirements may include drug test, physical and fit-for-duty assessment and hearing test.

Responsibilities

• Assists cooks and coordinates activities within a food service area.
• Prepare food and cook vegetables, entrees, coffee, sauces, meats, etc.
• Maintain sanitation standards across kitchen, dining and storage areas.
• Stock food service areas with products and materials.
• Clean dishes, utensils, pots and pans; organize storage areas.
• Clean and sanitize floors, surfaces and equipment; remove garbage.
• Set up and break down tables, snack bars and serving lines.
• May perform light facility maintenance and participate in large cleaning projects.
