Job summary

Communication Service for the Deaf is seeking Call Center Representatives (Communication Assistants) to support our Telephone Relay Service from home in Minnesota. The role offers both full-time and part-time options with a starting wage of $14 per hour.

Training is conducted online, and residency in Minnesota is required as training and work-from-home arrangements are managed from this state.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must pass an essential skills assessment.
• Typing speed of 60 words per minute with 95% accuracy.
• Available to work varied schedules (weekday, weekend, overnights, holidays).
• Experience in customer service is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accept and place relay calls for consumers.
• Ensure high-quality service for all consumers.
• Hear audio and transcribe to text on a computer.
• Read aloud messages and translate ASL to English.
• Convey caller emotions through voice inflection.
• Relay call contents accurately without interrupting the conversation.
• Maintain TRS quality standards for accuracy and speed.
• Report technical issues to staff.
• Maintain consumer confidentiality.
