Job summary

Elevate is seeking a California-based Litigation Attorney with 4-5 years of relevant experience to join its integrated law firm team. The successful candidate will primarily support defense of negligence actions for utility-sector customers, while also assisting with broad commercial and civil litigation matters as capacity permits.

This position is expected to be fully remote, but requires an attorney based in California in the event in-person appearances may be necessary.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of substantive litigation experience in a law firm, in-house legal department, or comparable setting.
• Strong knowledge of California civil procedure, court rules, and litigation practice.
• Experience handling multiple phases of litigation including pleadings, discovery, and trials.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned litigation matters from initial assessment through resolution under partner supervision.
• Support utility-related disputes and other complex civil matters as needed.
• Prepare pleadings, briefs, discovery requests/responses, and case-management reports.
• Take and defend depositions and prepare witnesses for depositions and hearings.
• Maintain calendars, budgets, matter plans, and risk assessments to meet deadlines.
