Job summary

Mindrift is seeking a skilled CAD engineer to work remotely on a freelance basis. You will help train and evaluate AI agents operating inside a real CAD environment on long engineering tasks, designing part geometry and building reference solutions for assessment.

You will collaborate with CFD engineers, require 5+ years of CAD modelling experience, an active CAD licence, and proficiency in Python. Projects run 10–20 hours weekly during active phases with compensation up to $69/hour.

Qualifications

• A degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional, hands-on CAD modelling (CATIA, SolidWorks, Siemens NX, Creo or similar).
• An active professional CAD licence of your own (required).
• Comfortable with Python and GitHub.
• English at B2 level or above.

Responsibilities

• Help train and evaluate AI agents that work inside a real CAD environment on long engineering tasks.
• Design part geometry, build reference solutions, and judge the agent's attempts.
• Work alongside CFD engineers who simulate the geometry you build.
