Job summary

Mindrift is seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to help train and evaluate AI agents that operate inside a real CAD environment on long tasks, such as complex part design and optimization.

You will design part geometry, build reference solutions, and judge the agent's attempts, working closely with CFD engineers who simulate the geometry you create. This remote freelance role offers flexible hours, laptop-only setup, and performance incentives.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years CAD modelling experience (CATIA/SolidWorks/Siemens NX/Creo).
• Active professional CAD licence required.
• Experience preparing geometry for simulation (ANSYS or similar) is a plus.
• Proficient in Python and GitHub; English at B2 level or above.

Responsibilities

• Help train and evaluate AI agents that operate in a real CAD environment.
• Design part geometry and build reference solutions.
• Judge the agent's attempts and provide feedback for improvement.
• Collaborate with CFD engineers who simulate the geometry you create.
• Contribute to ongoing project tasks with remote, flexible scheduling.
