Job summary

Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc. seeks a Designer (remote with onsite as needed) to translate engineering requirements into 2D drawings, 3D models, and simulation setups using CAD/CAM/CAE software.

You will deliver complete drawings with interfaces, materials, tolerances, and assembly relationships, while ensuring compliance with drafting standards. The role requires extensive Creo/Windchill experience, GD&T proficiency, and strong collaboration with engineers and other disciplines.

Qualifications

• Proficient in PTC Creo for immediate contribution.
• ASME Y14.5-2009 tolerance and datum systems knowledge.
• Ability to interpret engineering calculations and redlines.
• Experience performing independent drawing checks.
• Strong GD&T application and drafting standards knowledge.
• Ability to coordinate with engineers and other disciplines.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and revise 2D drawings and 3D models.
• Create complete drawings with geometry, interfaces, materials, tolerances.
• Apply datum reference frames and tolerances per ASME Y14.5.
• Evaluate tolerance accumulation at interfaces.
• Maintain drawing integrity and document control.
• Coordinate with engineers to clarify requirements.
• Plan work against priorities and dates.
• Mentor drafting personnel in modeling and GD&T.
• Resolve technical comments while preserving auditable changes.
