Job summary

Navarro Research and Engineering is seeking a Designer to translate engineering requirements into CAD/CAM drawings and models. The role blends remote work with onsite reporting to Idaho National Laboratory; primary site is Idaho Falls, with a 4x10 schedule.

You will apply ASME Y14.5-2009, produce complete drawings, and ensure document control and change management are maintained. Requires a BS degree with 5 years of relevant experience (or 10 years without a degree) and at least 3 years in Creo,

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited institution and five years of relevant experience, or ten years of relevant experience without a degree.
• Minimum of three years of experience using PTC Creo software; Creo proficiency required for immediate contribution.
• Experience with Windchill or similar PDM data management system.

Responsibilities

• Develop and revise 2D drawings, 3D parametric models, assemblies, and documentation from approved inputs.
• Create complete drawings defining geometry, interfaces, materials, tolerances, and assembly relationships.
• Apply ASME Y14.5-2009 datum frames, material condition modifiers, and tolerance schemes.
• Evaluate tolerance accumulation and identify conditions affecting fabrication, inspection, or operation.
• Maintain drawing/model integrity through document control and configuration management.
• Coordinate with engineers to clarify requirements and recommend modeling solutions.
• Plan work with priorities, provide progress updates, and address scope or schedule concerns.
