Job summary

Remote Jobs is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer – CAD & Manufacturing to work remotely as a contractor. You will develop and refine engineering drawings and CAD models for manufacturing, applying GD&T and tolerancing to ensure accurate production.

Your expertise across SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Onshape, Inventor, Creo, NX and FreeCAD will guide parts from concept to manufacturing. You will document processes, communicate design intent clearly, and contribute to design-for-manufacture

Qualifications

• Extensive mechanical design experience across concept to manufacturing.
• Expert-level CAD proficiency across multiple platforms.
• Solid knowledge of drafting standards and GD&T.
• Strong documentation and communication for manufacturing teams.
• Experience collaborating on projects remotely with constructive feedback.

Responsibilities

• Create and interpret engineering drawings with manufacturing details.
• Translate design requirements into manufacturable CAD specifications.
• Produce 2D and 3D models using SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Onshape, Inventor, Creo, NX; reference FreeCAD models.
• Apply GD&T, tolerancing, and dimensioning to deliverables.
• Document manufacturing processes and design intent clearly.
• Review and improve existing documentation for clarity and manufacturability.
• Provide design-for-manufacture input to optimize parts for production.
