Job summary

Navarro Research and Engineering is seeking a Designer to translate engineering requirements into CAD drawings and models. The role emphasizes 3D parametric design, GD&T, and detailed drawings for fabrication and installation while working remotely with periodic onsite support at Idaho Falls, ID.

The Designer will leverage Creo and Windchill, adhere to ASME Y14.5-2009, and collaborate with engineers across disciplines to ensure functional, manufacturable designs within a 4x10 schedule at INL

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of three years of experience using PTC Creo software.
• Experience applying ASME Y14.5-2009 to parts and assemblies.
• Experience with GD&T and drafting/ drawing standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and revise 2D drawings and 3D parametric models and assemblies.
• Create complete drawings with geometry, interfaces, materials, finishes, tolerances, and assembly relationships.
• Apply datum references, feature control frames, and tolerances per ASME Y14.5-2009.
• Evaluate tolerance accumulation and fit at interfaces.
• Maintain drawing/model integrity through document control and revision processes.
• Coordinate with engineers to clarify requirements and propose practical solutions.
• Mentor drafting personnel in modeling and detailing.
