Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking a Claims Examiner for California workers' compensation with strong litigation and adjudication skills. The role focuses on complex claims, including high-exposure cases, investigations, settlements, and subrogation where applicable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; professional certification as applicable to line of business preferred.
• Four (4) years of California workers' compensation claims management experience or equivalent.
• California jurisdictional knowledge; SIP required or to be obtained within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes and processes complex or technically difficult workers' compensation claims from investigation to resolution.
• Negotiates settlements within designated authority.
• Calculates reserves and pays benefits; manages reserves throughout the life of the claim.
• Prepares state filings within statutory limits.
• Manages litigation processes; ensures timely, cost-effective resolutions.
• Reports claims to excess carriers and follows directions professionally.
