Job summary

National Interstate Insurance Company seeks a CA Workers Comp Claims Adjuster to join the team. The role may be hybrid from Richfield, OH four days weekly or fully remote from the USA if not local to office. Must evaluate compensability, investigate coverage, and negotiate settlements within authority.

Prior claims experience and risk management knowledge are required. Education includes a bachelor’s degree or related field; AIC is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Risk Management and Insurance, Finance, or a related field or equivalent experience.
• Completion of or progress toward a professional designation such as AIC is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages an inventory of claims to evaluate compensability/liability.
• Conducts claim investigations to confirm coverage and determine liability, compensability and damages.
• Determines and may negotiate settlements/reserves within authority.
• May attend arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials.
• Maintains accurate and detailed claim files and communications.
