Job summary

National Interstate Insurance Company seeks a California Senior Workers' Comp Claims Specialist to join their team. This role is fully remote from the USA and requires deep expertise in complex workers' compensation claims.

You will manage a large inventory, lead investigations, negotiate settlements, and clearly communicate coverage details to insureds and partners. A Bachelor’s degree and 13+ years in property and casualty claims are preferred; AIC designation is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 13 years of experience in property and casualty claims handling.
• Completion of or progress toward a professional designation such as AIC is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages a large inventory of highly complex claims to evaluate compensability/liability.
• Leads investigations to confirm coverage and determine liability, compensability and damages.
• Analyses and negotiates settlements/reserves within authority; may attend arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials.
• Communicates complex coverage and settlements to insureds, claimants, and partners.
• Authorizes payments within authority limits and ensures timely disbursement.
• Maintains accurate claim files and documentation.
• May supervise staff and participate in talent decisions.
