Job summary

Intact Insurance Specialty Solutions is seeking an Underwriting Specialist to join our Striior team, working remotely nationwide. You will underwrite and manage a highly complex book of business within broad authorities, drive profitable growth, and collaborate with producers, claims, actuary and risk control to deliver superior results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of progressively more complex, specialty lines underwriting experience.
• Professional insurance designation is preferred (AICPCU, RPLU).
• Wood frame Builders Risk expertise is preferred.
• Hold a Property & Casualty (P&C) License or be willing to secure one following onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Underwrites a book of business and manages underwriting quality and book management.
• Executes underwriting strategy as determined by management, including portfolio management and approvals of underwriting edits.
• Develops superior working relationships with producers to promote growth and profitability.
• Gathers and analyzes competitor information and producer reports to support rate reviews and decision making.
• Provides training and mentoring to less experienced underwriters.
