Job summary

CFS in Portland, OR is seeking a Bookkeeper & Account Manager to handle full-cycle bookkeeping and act as the main client liaison for a portfolio of clients.

You will balance hands-on ledger work with onboarding calls, regular check-ins, and financial advisory sessions in a role that values continuous learning and ownership of results. Flexible, remote-friendly arrangement in the Portland metro area.

Qualifications

• Active QuickBooks Online (QBO) ProAdvisor certification is required, or must obtain during onboarding and renew annually.
• Proven prior experience in full-cycle bookkeeping, account reconciliation, and financial report preparation.
• Strong presentation and communication skills, prior history in a client-facing role preferred.
• High degree of self-management, personal accountability, and time-management skills to run projects independently.
• Ability to translate technical accounting concepts into accessible language for non-finance business owners.
• Proactive problem-solving mindset with a commitment to continuous learning and skill development.

Responsibilities

• Full-Cycle Bookkeeping: Record monthly transactions, prepare general journal entries, manage accounts payable/receivable, and reconcile accounts.
• Client Account Management: Serve as primary contact for assigned clients, leading onboarding calls and regular check-ins.
• Financial Reporting & Maintenance: Prepare monthly financial packages and maintain client process documentation.
• Technical Translation: Clarify technical queries for clients in clear, solutions-oriented language.
• Special Projects: Complete annual cleanup tasks and tailored client projects with deadlines.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with internal teams to improve workflows and service quality.
