Job summary

Abax Health is seeking a Remote Patient Access Concierge fluent in Spanish and English to independently manage patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, and prior authorizations. You will resolve escalated insurance and scheduling issues, mentor newer teammates, and collaborate with providers and carriers while maintaining HIPAA compliance in a fully remote U.S.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Spanish and English required; language assessment included in hiring.
• 1–4 years of Patient Access, Medical Scheduling, Registration, or related healthcare experience.
• Experience verifying insurance eligibility, obtaining prior authorizations, and scheduling appointments.
• Ability to explain healthcare terms in Spanish and English clearly.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based healthcare applications.

Responsibilities

• Accurately collect, verify, and maintain patient demographic, insurance, and clinical information.
• Review accounts for completeness and resolve registration discrepancies before services.
• Maintain documentation in EMR and other systems; ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain prior authorizations; monitor referrals.
• Coordinate scheduling and act as a remote point of contact for inquiries; provide exceptional customer service.
• Communicate in Spanish and English with patients, providers, and staff; document Spanish interactions in English.
• Identify when interpreter services are needed and follow language access procedures.
• Support onboarding and training of new team members; participate in continuous improvement.
