Job summary

Parallon, a part of HCA Healthcare, seeks a Medical Procedure Scheduler to support scheduling of patient testing and procedures. The role involves handling calls, obtaining pre-certifications, and entering information into scheduling systems from a remote location within 60 miles of an HCA hospital.

You will coordinate with medical staff, ensure proper indexing of orders, and verify insurance and patient information for efficient scheduling and admissions.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience in medical procedure scheduling is preferred.
• Must have wired high-speed internet (25 Mbps down, 15 Mbps up) for remote work.
• Must live within a 60-mile radius of an HCA Hospital.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls in a timely and professional manner.
• Schedule patients for ancillary, surgical and medical testing/procedures using the scheduling module.
• Select accurate insurance plans and inform staff of out-of-network carriers.
• Inform physician office staff or patients of testing requirements per scheduling instructions.
• Ensure edits and physician orders are indexed correctly.
• Maintain knowledge of scheduling reports and department readiness for next day.
• Coordinate with physician office staff to ensure pre-cert/authorization numbers are entered.
• Select correct patient medical record numbers consistently.
• Maintain communication with registration staff for unscheduled patients.
• Use appropriate tools to communicate with Patient Access and other departments.
• Edit medical accounts to appropriate status per standards and index orders.
