Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking a Bilingual Diagnostic Procedure Scheduler for a Work from Home role. The position requires residence within 60 miles of an HCA hospital and entails scheduling patient tests, obtaining pre-certifications, and entering information into the scheduling system.

Responsibilities include answering calls, coordinating ancillary, surgical and medical procedures, and ensuring accurate physician orders and insurance details.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of related experience, preferably medical procedure scheduling.
• Work from home employees are required to have wired high speed internet (25MB Download, 15MB Upload).
• Live within a 60 mile radius of a HCA Hospital.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls in a timely and professional manner.
• Schedule patients for ancillary, surgical and medical testing/procedures using the scheduling module (e.g., Meditech).
• Inform about insurance carrier plans and out-of-network status to patients or staff.
• Communicate testing requirements per scheduling module instructions.
• Ensure edits are in the scheduling system and physician orders are indexed properly.
• Know scheduling reports for next-day readiness and Meditech downtime contingencies.
• Coordinate with physician offices to obtain pre-cert/authorization numbers and correct MRN.
• Maintain open communication with registration regarding unscheduled patients and testing times.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Bilingual Diagnostic Procedure Scheduler, you willberesponsible forscheduling patient testing/procedures/admissions; obtaining pre-cert/authorization numbers and entering in the scheduling or registration system; obtaining and enteringaccurateinsurance information; answering incoming phone calls.

What you will do in this role:

• Answer incoming calls ina timelyand professional manner
• Schedules all patients for ancillary, surgical and medical testing/procedures through the applicable scheduling module (i.e.Meditech)
• Selectaccurateinsurance carrier plans and informs the patient or physician office staff of any carrier that is out of network
• Inform the physician office staff or patient of any testing requirements according to the instructions and queries in the scheduling module
• Ensure that any edits are performed in the scheduling module
• Ensure physician orders are indexed appropriately
• Maintain knowledge of the scheduling reports for the next day to ensure department readinessin the event ofany unscheduled Meditech down-time
• Work closely with the physician office staff to ensure that pre-cert/authorization numbers are entered in the scheduling or registration system
• Select the correct patient medical record number consistently
• Maintain open communication with the registration staffregardingthose unscheduled patients presenting for services to ensureappropriate testingis performed and times are available
• Utilizeappropriate method/toolto communicate with Patient Access and other facility departments as necessary
• Edit medical accounts toappropriate statusper facility or SSC standards and guidelines – Receive,maintain, and index physician orders per facility and SSC standards and guidelines
