Job summary

The Procedure Scheduling Representative II partners with scheduling, eligibility, providers and operations to manage complex procedures and high-end ASC cases. This onshore role handles first-level escalations and eligibility exceptions while maintaining HIPAA compliance and patient communication.

Remote in Maryland or New Jersey, this position requires meticulous coordination, strong communication, and the ability to resolve discrepancies quickly to keep procedures on schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 3 years related experience.
• Knowledge of Internet and Microsoft Office software (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook).
• Experience making outbound calls using VOIP software.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including customer service.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with doctors, staff and the public.
• Flexible schedule and HIPAA awareness.

Responsibilities

• Conducts introductory call to patients for all assigned procedures.
• Serves as onshore liaison to offshore eligibility and pre-certification team.
• Verifies eligibility and benefits when discrepancies are identified.
• Provides eligibility confirmation support during payer conflicts or escalations.
• Finalizes scheduling once cleared.
• Documents all communication and escalates issues per policy.
• Partner with offshore eligibility team to resolve discrepancies.
• Back-up for same-day, emergency, or Medicare add-on procedures.
• Primary contact for initial patient fallout and retention discussions.
• Escalates cases when a patient chooses not to proceed and coordinates handoff.
