Job summary

DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC SECURITY in Phoenix, Arizona seeks an Investigator 2 to conduct preliminary desktop investigations of benefit fraud. You will assess referrals, research confidential data, and determine action on each case, coordinating with OSI field investigators statewide.

Upcoming responsibilities include scanning ROIs into OnBase, maintaining confidential files, processing subpoenas, and providing administrative support.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of public assistance eligibility policies and related offenses
• Preservation of evidence and information
• Understanding of information gathering systems and data sources
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs

Responsibilities

• Conduct preliminary investigations into benefit fraud via referrals, complaints, and hotlines.
• Review fraud-investigation requests against program criteria and decide whether to pursue.
• Research and analyze documents from confidential databases; assign cases to OSI investigators statewide.
• Oversee ROI scanning into OnBase and maintain confidential files per retention schedules.
• Perform administrative support for OSI units, including subpoenas and inventory management.
• Attend staff meetings and support OSI colleagues on various projects.
