Job summary

South Dakota Department of Social Services seeks an articulate Recoveries Investigator to identify improper benefit use and pursue recoveries. You will investigate cases, analyze data, and prepare clear reports in alignment with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

• Degree and/or work experience in public administration, human services, public health, finance, health care administration, or a related field.
• Knowledge of Department of Social Services programs (TANF, SNAP, Child Care, Energy Assistance, Child Support).
• Ability to gather and analyze data, reason logically, and prepare clear reports.
• Experience with preparing case action plans and using computerized data systems.

• Investigate cases to ensure benefits are used appropriately according to regulations.
• Gather and analyze data, prepare concise documentation and reports.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to resolve recoveries and fraud issues.
