Job summary

Optum is hiring a Behavioral Intake Counselor for the County of San Diego's 24/7 Access and Crisis Line. This remote role requires evenings and weekends with PST shifts, serving 3.3 million residents.

You will conduct behavioral health screenings, provide crisis stabilization, and link callers to appropriate care while ensuring HIPAA-compliant documentation. Qualifications include a Master’s or Doctorate in behavioral health, crisis management experience, and experience with diverse populations.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctorate in human services/behavioral health required.
• Postgraduate behavioral clinical experience and crisis management experience requested.
• Experience with diverse multi-ethnic populations and psychology/addiction disorders.

Responsibilities

• Manage calls from 988 Lifeline and triage based on mental health symptoms.
• Conduct behavioral health screenings including suicide/homicide risk.
• Provide referrals and crisis intervention with proper documentation.
• Enter clinical information into Medi-Cal EHR and abide by HIPAA.
