Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field is required.
• Licensure as LCSW, MFT or Associate/Intern preferred; nurses must be licensed in CA.
• Previous clinical experience in psychiatric/behavioral health settings is required.
• Strong communication, empathy and professional judgment are essential.
• Ability to work with diverse patient populations and families.

Responsibilities

• Respond to telephone or in-person requests for psychiatric assistance.
• Assess inquiries to determine clinical need and appropriate referral.
• Document high-risk indicators and hand off to unit staff.
• Coordinate admissions with Business Office, Utilization Review and Nursing.
• Maintain good relations with referral sources and external partners.
