Cover Whale is seeking a Business Development Manager for the Southwest Region, based in California, Arizona, or Nevada, with remote work options and occasional travel. You will expand agency partnerships, drive premium generation, and collaborate with underwriting, marketing, and product teams to expand our distribution footprint.

The role emphasizes revenue growth, strategic collaboration, and leveraging AI-enabled tools to enhance efficiency while maintaining data integrity and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 4–6 years of BD or account management.
• Experience developing and managing retail/wholesale brokers, MGAs, MGUs and other partners.
• Proven ability to drive revenue from distribution partners.
• Comfort with cold calling agency partners.
• Strong numeric acumen and data-driven mindset.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to navigate complex business situations.

Responsibilities

• Drive revenue growth by building and expanding agency partner relationships in the territory.
• Develop distribution strategies and manage partner premium generation.
• Represent Cover Whale in meetings with distribution partners and at events.
• Prospect new distribution partners and agents.
• Establish and report KPIs, and meet/exceed goals.
• Collaborate with underwriting, marketing, and development teams.
• Drive brand image and integrate AI into workflows.
