Job summary

nVent is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth for the CADDY Fire & Seismic portfolio across the Southwest region, with a focus on Southern California. This fully remote, individual contributor role supports contractors, engineers, and project teams, and requires up to 60% overnight travel within the region.

The role partners with product management, marketing, engineering, and sales to expand market presence and introduce new products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a technical field.
• 5+ years of sales territory/region management in technical fields.
• Experience supporting commercial construction projects (fire protection, mechanical, electrical, or related systems).
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to contractors, engineers, field personnel, business owners, and executives.
• Experience influencing project decisions with technical expertise and consultative engagement.
• Familiarity with building codes and engineering specifications.
• Experience managing opportunities and customer activities through Salesforce or similar CRM.

Responsibilities

• Grow assigned product categories by finding opportunities, managing the sales pipeline, and delivering regional growth.
• Partner with contractors, specifying engineers, manufacturers' representatives, and other project partners to influence project specifications and expand adoption of nVent CADDY solutions.
• Help customers evaluate seismic bracing applications, design approaches, and product solutions that support fire protection, mechanical, electrical, and data infrastructure systems.
• Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and training to audiences ranging from field installers and project engineers to contractors and business owners.
• Support adoption of nVent's seismic design software and other tools that simplify design and installation.
• Gather customer feedback, competitor insights, and market trends to shape future products and growth strategies.
• Partner with product management, marketing, engineering, and sales teams to support new product introductions and market expansion initiatives.
