Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Design Engineer I, BESS to create preliminary battery energy storage system layouts and single-line diagrams using templates. You will review bid drawings against internal standards and help evaluate RFPs to ensure compliant, competitive designs.

The role supports cross-functional teams, collaborates with BD and Estimating, and performs basic electrical calculations. A Bachelor’s in EE and EIT progress are required, with hybrid work options in multiple U.S. locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• EIT certification or on track to obtain it.
• Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD, Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
• Basic understanding of electrical engineering principles, including wire sizing and current calculations.
• Knowledge of building codes, engineering principles, and industry best practices.

Responsibilities

• Create preliminary BESS layouts and single line diagrams using templates.
• Review bid drawings for internal standards and document differences.
• Review RFPs and compare against standard designs; communicate unique specs.
• Collaborate with Business Development and Estimating on RFP responses.
• Perform basic electrical engineering calculations to support design.
