Job summary

Asurint is seeking a Researcher I to process pre-employment background applications, including MVRs, civil/criminal records, drug testing, and OFAC checks. You will help gather, verify, and document information while maintaining confidentiality and compliance.

The role supports data-driven decision making and requires strong research and data entry skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate with clients and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service or with research/investigations is required.
• Experience with internet researching is required.
• Experience with the legal/court system is preferred.
• Experience with background screening is preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software required.

Responsibilities

• Retrieves and enters data from computer/web-based systems, files, and other documents related to the applicant history.
• Locates information quickly in accordance with applicable state laws and procedures.
• Uses software programs to provide instant criminal results to clients.
• Examines internet databases to help investigate and adjudicate criminal records.
• Performs data entry using spreadsheet or database commands.
• Performs extensive internet inquiries to supplement criminal records.
• Analyzes information to identify potential problems or discrepancies.
• Communicates with clients and outside resources via email or phone to verify information.
• Updates order statuses appropriately.
• Maintains confidentiality and secure handling of information.
