Close is seeking a Backend Platform Engineer to strengthen infrastructure and AI developer tooling for our 130-person, fully remote team. You’ll work on Python, Flask, FastAPI, and DevEx tooling, building a paved road for other teams while expanding DevDawg and Spice.

This is a US-only, fully remote role at Senior or Staff level, with an optional 4-day workweek and strong work-life balance. You’ll be part of a fast-moving, async-first environment that values practical builders over perfect

Formación

• Strong Python backend experience in production systems.
• Experience with API design, observability, and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Kafka, and database migrations.

Responsabilidades

• Expand DevDawg and Spice platforms.
• Build REST/GraphQL APIs with robust auth/permissions.
• Modernize backend framework and migration paths (Flask→FastAPI).
• Own production observability, metrics, and incident readiness.
• Ship shared backend services and primitives.
