Job summary

Close is seeking a seasoned Python engineer to reinforce Backend Platforms. You’ll shape API design, authentication, rate limiting, and telemetry across the stack, enabling AI tooling and internal agents.

You’ll work on DevDawg and Spice, expand API roadmaps (REST/GraphQL/OpenAPI), modernize the backend stack (Flask→FastAPI), and own production readiness with observability and safety gates for coding agents.

Qualifications

• Seasoned Python engineer with backend focus and production experience.
• Experience building AI tooling and internal developer platforms.
• Comfort with REST/GraphQL APIs, authentication and telemetry.

Responsibilities

• Expand DevDawg and Spice to support more teams and use cases.
• Build the paved roads for our API layer (REST, GraphQL, OpenAPI, realtime).
• Modernize backend framework layers and provide migration paths (Flask → FastAPI).
• Own production observability, metrics, alerting and incident response.
• Ship shared backend primitives and secure coding agent guardrails.
