Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Software Developer (Backend) to support United States Air Force missions by building secure, scalable back-end services and integrations in a cloud environment.

You will design architectures, develop RESTful APIs, manage databases and data models, implement DevSecOps practices, and participate in system testing and performance optimizations.

This is a remote position requiring TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly; travel of 10–20% may be required as project needs arise.

Qualifications

• 7 years of overall experience in the functional area, Bachelor's degree required (Master's may substitute for 2 years).
• 7 years of software development experience in object-oriented and scripted languages with DevSecOps, microservices, and containers tool suites.
• Demonstrated experience in preparing, conducting, and documenting various systems tests.
• 3 years of experience with bug tracking software (e.g., Jira) and testing web-based applications.
• 3 years of experience participating in software development programs or projects.
• Practical experience developing in a cloud environment.
• Experience with integrating data from unclassified to classified application deployments.
• 5 years of experience with Jenkins and GitLab.
• 5 years of experience with at least five (5) of the following: NPM, Cypress.io, esbuild, Bun, Apache Tomcat, Maven, SonarQube.
• 3 years of recent back-end web design and development experience.
• Demonstrated experience with relational databases, RESTful API development/communication, and system integrations.
• 3 years of experience with AWS Infrastructure, Kubernetes, and RedHat Linux.

Responsibilities

• Develop back-end architectures to support current and new system capabilities and integrations.
• Develop RESTful APIs and modify existing APIs.
• Database management and data model development and optimization.
• Contribute to system testing and quality assurance.
• Work with cloud environments and CI/CD pipelines.
