Job summary

Affirm is seeking a Batch Developer Experience engineer to help break down large projects into tasks, deliver in phases, and collaborate with product and infra teams to ensure timely delivery. This role emphasizes ownership, code quality, and scalable backend systems in a remote-first environment.

You will work across product management, design and analytics, contribute to on-call readiness, and engage in team growth activities.

Qualifications

• 1.5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience designing, developing and launching backend systems in Python or Kotlin.
• Familiar with distributed systems and technologies like AWS, MySQL and Kubernetes.
• Strong ownership, growth mindset and collaboration in teams.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Break down large projects into tasks, deliver in phases, and collaborate to ensure timely delivery.
• Collaborate with product, design and analytics to discuss constraints, risks and trade-offs.
• Support operations and availability by monitoring metrics and handling on‑call tasks.
• Contribute to team growth through interview participation and mentoring.
