Job summary

Affirm is seeking a Batch Developer Experience engineer to help build tools that streamline batch development and testing. You will work with product and infrastructure engineers to improve reliability of critical batch workloads and enable scalable, maintainable backend systems.

This remote-first role requires 1.5+ years as a software engineer, strong Python or Kotlin experience, and familiarity with AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes. We value ownership, collaboration, and clear communication.

Qualifications

• 1.5+ years experience as a software engineer.
• Backend design, development and launch experience in Python or Kotlin.
• Familiar with distributed systems, AWS, MySQL and Kubernetes.
• Able to turn simple problems into multi-component solutions with well-tested code.
• Comfortable navigating large code bases and participating in code reviews.
• Proactive in seeking feedback and owning growth, with strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Break down projects into tasks and deliver in phases with timely delivery.
• Collaborate with product management, design and analytics on requirements and trade-offs.
• Support operations and on-call efforts, monitor metrics, and maintain artifacts.
