Affirm is hiring a Software Engineer for the Identity Decisioning team. You will design and deliver backend systems that validate consumer identity in compliance with regulatory protocols such as KYC. Work with product, compliance, and fraud teams to build transparent, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• 1.5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience designing, developing and launching backend systems.
• Proficiency in Python or Kotlin.
• Familiar with distributed systems and AWS, MySQL, Kubernetes.
• Ability to transform business problems into multi-component solutions with well-tested, extensible code.
• Comfortable navigating large codebases and participating in code reviews.

Responsibilities

• Break down projects into tasks and deliver in phases.
• Collaborate with product, design, and analytics to align on technical constraints and trade-offs.
• Maintain operations and on-call readiness, monitor metrics, and escalate when needed.
