Job summary

Affirm is hiring a Software Engineer for the Identity Decisioning team, building backend systems that validate consumer identity in line with regulatory protocols like KYC. You will partner with Product, Compliance, Auth, Fraud, and other engineering teams to deliver transparent financial products.

You will work on distributed systems using Python or Kotlin, and cloud technologies such as AWS and Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• 1.5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience designing, developing and launching backend systems with Python or Kotlin.
• Familiar with distributed systems and technologies like AWS, MySQL and Kubernetes.
• Proven ability to break down problems and write clear, well-tested code.
• Strong communication and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

• Break down projects into tasks and deliver in phases with timely delivery.
• Collaborate with product management, design and analytics through ideation and trade-off discussions.
• Support operations and on-call efforts with metrics and escalation.
• Contribute to team growth through interview participation.
