Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an experienced Azure Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to ensure the reliability, availability, performance, scalability, and security of applications and infrastructure hosted on Microsoft Azure. The role emphasizes hands-on work with Azure cloud infrastructure, DevOps, IaC, observability, automation, and production support.

The successful candidate will monitor and optimize Azure environments, design scalable solutions with AKS, manage CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps,

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Azure infrastructure and production workloads.
• Strong understanding of Azure infrastructure architecture and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with Azure services such as Virtual Machines, App Services, Storage, Key Vault, Load Balancers, AKS and networking.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics and Application Insights.
• Experience building or troubleshooting Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
• IaC experience using Terraform, Bicep and/or ARM templates.
• Experience supporting RBAC, managed identities, Key Vault, identity/access controls and network security.
• Experience with incident, problem, change, and release management.

Responsibilities

• Manage, monitor, and support production and non-production workloads on Microsoft Azure.
• Support and troubleshoot Azure services including VMs, App Services, Storage, Key Vault, Load Balancers, AKS, and networking.
• Design, implement, and maintain scalable, highly available Azure solutions.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, connectivity, networking, performance, and availability issues; perform root-cause analysis.
• Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, diagnostics, dashboards, and alerting.
• Apply SRE principles to improve service availability and platform stability.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps; support deployments.
• Develop IaC using Terraform, Bicep, and ARM templates to automate provisioning.
• Automate repetitive operational tasks to improve reliability.
• Support Azure security, identity, and access management, including RBAC and Key Vault.
