Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an experienced Azure Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to ensure reliability, availability, performance, scalability, and security of Azure-based applications and infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with Azure cloud infrastructure, SRE, DevOps, IaC, observability, automation, security, and production support to continuously improve stability and resilience of the Azure platform.

Qualifications

• Proven experience supporting Microsoft Azure infrastructure and production workloads.
• Strong understanding of Azure services, availability, scalability, and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, and alerting.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps.
• Infra as Code expertise using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
• Ability to diagnose complex cloud issues and improve reliability.

Responsibilities

• Manage production and non-production workloads on Azure, ensuring reliability and security.
• Troubleshoot Azure services including VMs, App Services, AKS, KV, Load Balancers, and networking.
• Design and maintain scalable, highly available Azure cloud solutions.
• Perform root-cause analysis for production incidents and drive resolutions.
• Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting with Azure tools.
• Apply SRE principles to improve platform stability and efficiency.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
• Develop IaC using Terraform, Bicep, and/or ARM templates for provisioning.
• Automate operational tasks to reduce manual intervention and risk.
• Support security, identity, RBAC, Key Vault, and access controls in Azure.
• Collaborate with security and infra teams on vulnerabilities and governance.
• Participate in incident, change, and release management with cross-team coordination.
