Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an experienced Azure Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to ensure reliability, availability, performance, scalability, and security of applications and infrastructure hosted on Microsoft Azure. The role requires hands-on expertise across Azure cloud infrastructure, SRE, DevOps, IaC, observability, automation, security, and production support.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure infrastructure and production workloads.
• Strong understanding of Azure architecture, availability, scalability and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Azure services such as Virtual Machines, App Services, Storage, Key Vault, Load Balancers, Application Gateway, AKS, and networking.
• Experience building and maintaining Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
• Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, Bicep, and/or ARM templates.
• Exposure to security remediation, governance, and compliance activities.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support production and non-production workloads on Microsoft Azure, ensuring reliability and security.
• Troubleshoot Azure services and infrastructure to resolve issues and improve performance.
• Design and maintain scalable, highly available Azure cloud solutions.
• Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, diagnostics, dashboards, and alerting using Azure tools.
• Apply SRE principles to improve service availability and platform stability.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
• Develop IaC solutions with Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates to automate provisioning.
• Automate repetitive operational tasks to reduce manual work and improve reliability.
• Support security, identity, access management (RBAC, Key Vault, network security).
• Collaborate with security and infrastructure teams on vulnerabilities and compliance.
