Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an experienced Azure Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to ensure the reliability, availability, performance, and security of applications and infrastructure hosted on Microsoft Azure. The role requires hands-on expertise across Azure cloud, DevOps, IaC, observability, automation, and security.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting Microsoft Azure infrastructure and production workloads.
• Strong understanding of Azure infrastructure architecture, availability and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with key Azure services: VM, App Service, Storage, Key Vault, Load Balancers, Application Gateway, AKS, and networking.
• Proficient with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, monitoring and alerting.
• Experience building/troubleshooting Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
• IaC experience using Terraform, Bicep, and/or ARM templates.
• Experience with RBAC, security controls, governance, and compliance in Azure.
• Knowledge of incident/problem/change/release management.

Responsibilities

• Manage production and non-production workloads on Azure, ensuring reliability and security.
• Support and troubleshoot Azure services including AKS, VMs, App Services, and networking.
• Design and maintain scalable, highly available Azure cloud solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, connectivity, performance, and availability issues.
• Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, diagnostics, dashboards, and alerting using Azure tools.
• Apply SRE principles to improve service availability and platform stability.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps.
• Develop IaC solutions using Terraform, Bicep or ARM templates.
• Automate operational tasks to reduce manual work and improve reliability.
• Support Azure security, identity management, and access controls.
• Collaborate with security and infrastructure teams on vulnerabilities and governance.
• Participate in incident, problem, change, and release management; perform root-cause analysis.
