Qualifications

• 8+ years’ experience in software or data engineering with a strong AWS focus.
• Proven experience architecting and executing cloud data platform migrations in production environments.
• Track record of evaluating AWS data services to meet reporting needs.
• Experience delivering analytics solutions for non-technical users.
• Hands-on AWS across data services (S3, Athena, Glue, Aurora, DynamoDB, Redshift, OpenSearch, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch).
• Strong SQL skills to design relational layers over XML/JSON.
• Experience with XML-heavy data stores and healthcare data workflows.
• Familiarity with BI tooling (e.g., QuickSight) and governance.
• Proficiency with Git and GitHub; CI/CD with AWS tooling.

Responsibilities

• Lead modernization of a healthcare data platform.
• Evolve from MSSQL XML object store to cloud-native AWS architecture for SQL reports.
• Evaluate AWS data strategies and storage architectures (S3+Athena, Aurora, DynamoDB, Redshift, OpenSearch).
• Design and build a reporting layer enabling SQL queries via familiar tools.
• Architect migration paths for XML object store data into AWS with optimal formats.
• Build and maintain AWS data catalog, schemas, and metadata management.
• Optimize query performance and cost across AWS services.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate reporting needs into durable data models.
• Coordinate data flows from EDI pipelines into the new data layer with back-end teams.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines for data infra using AWS-native tooling.
• Apply IaC using CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform.
• Document architecture decisions, data flows, and dictionaries clearly.
