Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an AWS Cloud Ops Engineer to monitor, operate, and support AWS infrastructure across production and non-production environments. Daily health checks, CloudWatch and Dynatrace monitoring, and incident investigations are core responsibilities, along with backup validation for EC2 and RDS.

Additional duties include EBS snapshot and disk management, VPC/log management, DNS/firewall coordination, and deployment runbooks. Strong communication and on-call readiness are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in IT infrastructure and cloud operations.
• Experience with production AWS workloads and incident response processes.
• Proficient in backup validation and operational runbooks.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily AWS cloud infrastructure health checks (disk space, EC2/RDS availability).
• Configure and enhance monitoring with CloudWatch and Dynatrace (dashboards, alarms, notifications).
• Investigate alerts for outages, performance issues, and infrastructure anomalies.
• Manage EBS snapshots, backups, and reporting for EC2/RDS.
• Manage VPC Flow Logs, EC2 logs, S3 bucket access policies, and account access.
• Follow runbooks to support deployments and resizing, including weekend/on-call support.
